Sisobibra


Location
: East Garo Hills District

Sisobibra is 12 kilometres away from Williamnagar on the Tura-Wiliamnagar road. It is a beautiful place on the banks of Simsang River which is of historical importance. It was here that the legendary hero Togan Sangma along with his co-patriot Gilsang Dalbot fell to the bullets of the British soldiers while fighting bravely for the freedom. A memorial was also erected at the place where the warriors fell down. The District Council has build a twin cottage near the memorial place where visitors can stay. There is a memorial at the site of their death and a twin cottage has been established by the District Council to cater to the needs of people who visit the place.

Rongrenggiri


Location
: East Garo Hills District

It is located at a distance of 5 kilometres from Williamnagar. This place is a battlefield where the Garos fought for their independence from the Britishers. It is a very important place for the Garos.

Naka-Chikong Rock


Location
: East Garo Hills District

15 kms from Duphdara,
it is a deep hollow big rock, in the middle of Ildek river in Badaka village just 3kms from Adokgre. Mythologically, this big rock is believed to be swarming with fishes, you can fish out fishes any season of the year. However, there is a belief that if any one carelessly touches the big rock where the fishes are, then the fishes disappear from the river. The place bears importance for Hindus and they regularly come here for worship and picnic.

Napak Lake

: East Garo Hills District

There is a lake 45 kms from Williamnagar formed by damming of the upper tributary of a river during the great earthquake in 1897. Napak was once the land of the spirits until one woman working in the Jhum accidentally killed a spirit's baby. The spirits feeling insecure then migrated to Balpakram where they settled and are believed to stay there till date.
